Candles made of pure beeswax with a cotton wick (42 cm)

5,50

Handmade candles made of pure beeswax, produced at the Holy Xenophontos Monastery on Mount Athos.

Beeswax candles burn cleanly and do not produce soot, unlike paraffin candles, which are petroleum-based. They are natural, with a unique honey aroma, and contain no artificial fragrances or dyes.

The candle represents a small offering and sacrifice of the faithful to our Lord God.
The Paschal candle symbolizes the Divine Light that our Lord Jesus Christ brought to humanity when He conquered death through His Resurrection. The Holy Fire, which springs from the life-giving tomb and is used to light candles during Easter, holds an important place in our Orthodox faith.
The candle has its roots in early Christian times when believers were baptized in groups on Holy Saturday and Easter. The candle carries the Light of Christ, illuminating the soul of the baptized. By lighting the candle, we also ignite the flame of our faith and remember that we must live in the light we received at our baptism.

Description

Handmade candles made of pure beeswax, produced at the Holy Xenophontos Monastery on Mount Athos.

In the candle workshop of the Holy Xenophontos Monastery, monks carefully prepare wicks and candles of various sizes from pure beeswax, with prayer and attention, for use in churches and the homes of the faithful.

Beeswax is known as the “gold of the bee”!

It is secreted by the glands of worker bees. Initially, they produce white wax, which during processing acquires the characteristic ochre color due to the addition of pollen and propolis.

Beeswax has been used as a raw material for candles and wicks since the post-Byzantine period.

Monastery Xenophontos candles stand out for their quality. They are made using authentic traditional techniques, containing exclusively beeswax processed at ideal temperatures that preserve its natural properties and color.

Beeswax candles burn cleanly and do not produce soot, unlike paraffin candles, which are petroleum products. They are 100% natural, with a unique natural honey aroma, and contain no artificial fragrances or dyes.
