Herbal blend for oral hygiene

In one of the best-preserved places on Mount Athos, the fathers of the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos use the healing and aromatic properties of wild and cultivated herbs both in medicine and in cooking. The herbs for this tea are gathered from the wild nature around the monastery and are grown in the monastery gardens without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. They are hand-picked, gently rubbed, and naturally dried to preserve their valuable properties. The composition of the tea is carefully selected according to the healing effect of each herb and follows traditional Athonite recipes passed down through the centuries.

Properties:

Mint (Mentha spicata) – Refreshes the breath and has natural antiseptic properties that help maintain oral hygiene. Reduces inflammation in the mouth, soothes irritated gums, and contributes to a pleasant feeling of freshness.

Frankincense (Boswellia serrata) – Has strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that promote the healing of wounds in the oral cavity and reduce the risk of infections. Often used for inflamed gums and mouth ulcers.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) – A powerful natural disinfectant that protects the oral cavity from bacteria. Strengthens the gums, reduces inflammation, and speeds up the healing of small wounds and sores.

Sage (Salvia officinalis) – Known for its antibacterial and astringent properties that help strengthen the gums and reduce bleeding. Supports the healing of oral wounds and has antiseptic action.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – Soothes irritated gums, promotes wound healing, and has anti-inflammatory properties. Commonly used for treating sores and small injuries in the oral cavity.

Nettle (Urtica dioica) – Rich in minerals and antioxidants, it strengthens the gums and supports tissue regeneration. Has antiseptic action and helps heal minor wounds.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) – Has antimicrobial properties that support gum and oral health. Strengthens tissues, reduces inflammation, and contributes to fresh breath.

Bay leaf (Laurus nobilis) – Possesses natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that support gum health and the healing of small oral wounds. Refreshes the breath and reduces the risk of infections.

Created according to ancient Athonite recipes, this herbal tea supports oral hygiene and gum health with natural antiseptic and refreshing properties. It helps heal small wounds in the mouth, reduces inflammation, and provides a long-lasting feeling of freshness.

Dosage: 1 teaspoon of herbs per 200 ml of hot water.

Preparation:
Place the herbs in a cup, pour hot (not boiling) water over them, and cover. Let steep for 5–10 minutes, then strain.

Use:
Gargle with the warm (not hot) infusion 2–3 times daily, holding the liquid in your mouth for 30–40 seconds before spitting it out. For best results, use after meals and before bedtime.
