In the beeswax ointment workshop at the Holy Pantokrator Monastery, monks prepare traditional handmade creams whose healing properties have been known since ancient Greek times. Combining the beneficial properties of plants with ancient and modern pharmacopoeia knowledge from Mount Athos, the monastery offers:

Natural and Beneficial Ingredients:
The cream is made from pure beeswax, pure olive oil, and a blend of selected aromatic essential oils, giving it a special character.
Hydration and Nourishment:
Olive oil contains squalane and vitamin E. Squalane helps retain moisture in the skin, while vitamin E enhances the skin’s ability to absorb and retain water. Olive oil also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin, promoting active skin regeneration.
Skin Health:
Olive oil is highly valued for its antioxidant properties, which help slow aging, intensively nourish, hydrate, soften, and restore the skin.
Bacterial Activity:
Like for bees, beeswax acts as a natural preservative for humans, inhibiting bacterial growth.
Wound Healing:
Beeswax works as a natural adhesive and has bactericidal properties that stimulate tissue regeneration.
Breathability and Protection:
Honey sealed in wax combs is protected from external contaminants but can still “breathe,” just as skin can under beeswax ointment.
St. John’s Wort Oil:
This oil is made by mixing St. John’s Wort with olive oil and fermenting it in a jar in sunlight for 40 days. It has antimicrobial, antiviral, and astringent properties.
How to Use Beeswax Ointments:
Apply and gently rub a sufficient amount of beeswax cream onto your hands. For dry skin, focus a bit longer to allow absorption. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
Side Effects:
Beeswax ointments made from natural ingredients have no side effects. The only exceptions are individuals allergic to bee products or any other ingredient. If you suspect an allergy, consult your doctor.
Shelf Life:
Beeswax ointments contain no water and therefore require no added chemicals for preservation. They remain unchanged for 12 months after opening.
