This high-quality powdered charcoal is handmade at the Holy Xenophontos Monastery on Mount Athos, following a traditional monastic recipe. It is made from carefully selected vine branches, which are dried and ground into powder with diligence and blessing.
Thanks to its fine grinding and natural origin, the charcoal provides gentle, consistent heat, allowing the incense to burn evenly and without excessive smoke.

Thanks to its fine grinding and natural origin, the charcoal provides a gentle, consistent heat, allowing the incense to burn evenly and without excessive smoke.
Usage:
Place ½ teaspoon of powdered charcoal on the cooled ashes from the previous incense burning. Press lightly with a spoon. Light two grains of incense and wait about 2 minutes – the charcoal will begin to smolder and release aromatic smoke.
Burning time: approximately 10–15 minutes.
