MADE IN THE HOLY MONASTERY OF PANTOKRATOR ON MOUNT ATHOS.
The pharmacy of Mount Athos is unique for its combination of eco-friendly, nature-close production with millennia-old prayer practices. The monks of Pantokrator craft everything with care, attention, and prayer for the people who will use the product.
“The Lord has created medicines from the earth, and a prudent man will not neglect them. Therefore, He has given people knowledge, so that they may glorify Him in His marvelous works: with them He heals man and removes his disease.” (The Book of Wisdom of Jesus, son of Sirach 38:4-7)
In the monastery’s beeswax ointment workshop, the monks prepare traditional handmade creams whose healing properties have been known since the time of the ancient Greeks. Combining the numerous beneficial ingredients of plants with ancient and modern knowledge from Athos pharmacopoeia, we offer a moisturizing beeswax facial ointment, moisturizing beeswax hand ointment, warming beeswax ointment, regenerating beeswax ointment, and soothing balm.
Natural and beneficial ingredients:
The cream is made from pure beeswax, pure olive oil, and a blend of selected aromatic essential oils, giving it a unique character.
Hydration and nourishment
Olive oil contains squalane and vitamin E. Squalane helps retain moisture in the skin, while vitamin E increases the skin’s ability to absorb and retain water. Olive oil contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial components, and stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin. All of this promotes active skin regeneration.
Skin health
Olive oil is highly valued for its antioxidant properties, making it superior to many other oils. It helps slow down the aging process, enhances intensive nourishment, hydration, softness, and skin restoration.
Bacterial activity
For both bees and humans, beeswax acts as a natural preservative, inhibiting bacterial growth.
Wound healing
Beeswax acts as a natural adhesive while also having bactericidal properties and a rich composition that stimulates tissue regeneration.
Breathing and protection
Honey sealed in honeycombs is protected from external components while still being able to “breathe,” just like the skin under a beeswax ointment.
St. John’s Wort Oil
St. John’s Wort oil is made by mixing St. John’s Wort with olive oil and allowing it to ferment in a jar under the sun for 40 days. It has antimicrobial, antiviral, and astringent properties.
How to use beeswax ointments:
Apply and gently massage a sufficient amount of beeswax cream onto the affected area, chest, back, or neck 2-3 times a day until the discomfort subsides. For dry skin, gently press the cream to help it absorb. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
Side effects of beeswax ointment:
Ointments made from natural beeswax have no side effects, as they are made from pure and natural ingredients. The only possible side effects concern those allergic to bee products or any other ingredient. If you suspect any allergy, consult your doctor.
Shelf life of beeswax ointments:
The main feature of beeswax ointments is that they contain no water and therefore do not require chemical preservatives. They remain unchanged for 12 months after opening.
